The good news: in September, Governor Cuomo expressed his opposition to Williams pipeline.
The bad news: the Williams Company was allowed by the Cuomo administration to submit another application to build this dangerous project, after having been rejected in May.
The pipeline would carry fracked gas along the shores of New York City. And its construction would stir up seabed contaminants, endanger marine life and beachgoers, and lock us into decades of fossil fuels at a time when we desperately need to transition to renewable energy.
We won the first round when Governor Cuomo denied the permit, but it's up to us to make sure the project is stopped for good. Let's make it clear where New Yorkers stand.
