Over the past few months at least nine sinkholes have formed on a problematic section of Mariner East 2 and 2X construction in West Whiteland Township. All of them have been within a few feet of Mariner East 1 and the 12” workaround, two repurposed pipelines from the 1930’s actively transporting highly explosive ethane and propane.

After a massive sinkhole opened up mere inches from Mariner East 1, on July 19 the Chester County Commissioners sent a letter to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) asking them to halt the operation of this dangerous pipeline project. The PUC has done nothing.

It is imperative that the Chester County Commissioners take swift action to keep residents safe. Every day they delay, every Chester County resident who lives, works, shops, dines, visits or passes through the half mile blast radius is relying on luck.

Your Message
Dear Commissioner,

It is time for you, our County Commissioners, to take immediate action yourselves to keep Chester County residents safe by filing a Petition for Emergency Relief with the PUC. Every day you delay, every Chester County resident who lives, works, shops, dines, visits or passes through the half mile blast radius is relying on luck.

Regards
