Four and a half years ago, New York's climate movement won a landmark victory by banning fracking statewide. But now the oil and gas industry is back, trying to sneak through a new fracking plan that uses liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in place of water.
Here's the thing, though: New Yorkers won't fall for this nonsense.
Governor Cuomo has the power to stop this foolish scheme and continue New York's ban on fracking. But he needs to hear from all of us before a crucial public comment deadline this Friday, August 2.
Fracking poses serious, unacceptable risks to our health, our clean water, and our livable planet. Swapping in LPG for water does nothing to make process safer. In fact, this untested technology poses new risks.
New Yorkers know better than anyone that there is no safe fracking.
Take action below to demand that Governor Cuomo rejects this LPG fracking scheme.
