A rapid transition to 100% clean, renewable energy is essential if we want to avoid the worst impacts of climate change. And Community Choice Energy (CCE) is an important tool to help us get there by giving communities control over their electricity decisions.
Delegate Lorig Charkoudian (D-20) is planning to introduce legislation in 2020 to allow Community Choice Energy in Maryland. This legislation will give Maryland communities control over the purchase of their electricity to achieve both lower rates and a more rapid transition to renewable energy.
This is a powerful tool to help move our state to 100% renewables as soon as possible, and we need our elected officials to support this important legislation.
