On February 13, Senate Bill 149 - Prohibit New Fracking Licenses, passed the New Mexico Conservation Committee because people like YOU spoke up. One month later, the bill is being held hostage in Senate Judiciary Committee by Senator Joseph Cervantes, the chair of the committee who has the power to schedule our bill.
With less than 10 days left in the legislative session, time is ticking! After the Senate Judiciary Committee, the bill still needs to go to the Finance Committee before it can reach the Senate floor for a vote, but we know from experience that bills can be moved quickly at the 11th hour — if legislators want them to.
Let's make sure our voices are heard, not just those of oil and gas lobbyists! Take action to tell Senator Cervantes and other legislative leaders we need a pause on fracking NOW!
Fill out the form provided to send a message to Senator Cervantes and other top legislative leaders demanding they RELEASE OUR BILL and vote to put a pause on fracking in New Mexico!
