Governor Hochul faces a deadline of June 30 to deny the air quality permit for a fracked gas power plant in the Finger Lakes being used for Bitcoin mining.

A Bitcoin-mining operator repowered the Greenidge power plant with fracked gas — using the formerly mothballed plant to power its energy-intensive cryptocurrency operations. That means drastically more air and water pollution for the local community and terrible impacts for our climate.

The Hochul administration has until the end of the month to decide whether to issue a crucial air permit for Greenidge.

Urge Governor Hochul and the Department of Environmental Conservation to strike a blow against fossil fuels and deny the Greenidge fracked gas power plant's air permit!
