Stop the "Iroquois" Pipeline Expansion!

Governor Hochul and her Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) are reviewing a proposal to build more fracked gas pipeline infrastructure in New York: the so-called "Iroquois Enhancement by Compression Project."

If approved, the project would increase the amount of fracked gas that gets transported to New York City by doubling the size of FOUR polluting compressor stations that endanger local communities' health and safety. The gas would travel through the existing "Iroquois" pipeline, which runs from the Canadian border through the Hudson Valley and Connecticut to New York City and Long island.

With the recent passage of emissions-reducing laws like the city and statewide ban on gas in new construction, New York City doesn't need more gas. This proposal also violates the mandates of the state Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. More gas is not needed. We can't let the fossil fuel industry continue to profit at the expense of the health and safety of New Yorkers.

Take action: Tell Governor Hochul and the DEC to reject this project.
