Governor Brown is proposing massive tunnels to divert the Sacramento River to the Central Valley for giant agribusinesses and oil companies to use. Much of this water could be used in fracking operations, which could pollute our state's already precious water resources.

The worst part about the $20-$70 billion project is that ratepayers and taxpayers like us would be forced to shoulder most of the financial burden while unmetered agribusinesses on the west side of the Central Valley receive the water for next to nothing. Large agribusinesses and oil corporations want to redirect an entire river to make more profit.

Right now, California is asking residents to submit a public comment on the proposal. Submit a public comment to stop this corporate boondoggle today!

Dear Governor Brown,

Overall, the tunnels are unnecessary and fiscally irresponsible. The existing aquaduct could be reinforced and other local water projects like rainwater collection could be implemented instead, providing a much greater benefit at a lower cost.

Sincerely,
