Public lands and waters belong to everyone. But for over a century, administration after administration has leased these lands to Big Oil & Gas for fossil fuel extraction. This must end.
Fracking is an extreme and dangerous way of extracting oil and gas that causes massive amounts of methane leakage, water contamination, air pollution and even earthquakes. It disrupts wildlife, harms people and communities, and it’s devastating public lands.
The Department of the Interior is working on a report that looks to improve how public lands and waters are managed — and you have an opportunity to tell officials that managing public lands should not include leasing them for oil and gas extraction.
Tell the Department of the Interior: Preserve our public lands and waters and halt all leasing for oil and gas extraction.
