We are losing antibiotics for future generations. To compensate for filthy conditions, factory farms feed low doses of
antibiotics to otherwise healthy animals, leading to a serious public
health threat. Some bacteria survive these low doses, and, over
time, they become resistant to antibiotics. This overuse of
antibiotics is making them less effective when we really need them.
Every year, 2 million people contract antibiotic-resistant infections,
and at least 23,000 people die from them.We can do something to stop this.Los Angeles City Councilmember O'Farrell can protect our public health by introducing the Healthy Farms, Healthy
Families Resolution, calling for a ban on the misuse of antibiotics on factory farms! Sign below to send a message directly to Councilmember O'Farrell.
