A bill that seeks to shield factory farms from efforts to hold them accountable for their waste is sneakily advancing through the House.A single dairy farm with 2,500 dairy cows produces as much waste as a city with 411,000 residents. Because factory farms produce manure on such large scales, the water in surrounding communities can become dangerously contaminated. If passed, H.B. 848, also known as the Farm Regulatory Certainty Act, would leave rural Americans with no recourse if their drinking water is polluted by mismanagement of livestock waste on a factory farm.Take action: Tell your Representatives that they MUST protect our water from factory farm pollution!
