Fracking is too dangerous for Florida. Tell your Florida legislators: we need a ban on fracking!
Hydraulic fracturing (also known as fracking) is a dangerous method used to extract natural gas from shale rock. Each new well requires millions of gallons of water and a mixture of sand and toxic chemicals, which are injected underground at high pressure to break up the rock and release the gas.
From start to finish, fracking is too risky for Florida — it threatens the air we breathe, the water we drink, the communities we love, and the climate we depend on.
Fracking has not yet started in Florida, but it could in the next few years because the oil and gas industry is eager to frack here. If the industry gets their way, generations of Floridians would pay the environmental and public health costs.
Let your Florida legislators know that you don't want fracking in Florida.
Don't Frack Florida
